Everyone nowadays is obsessed with tone abs. They look great on a slim or muscular body. They are what we used to determine if someone is in good shape. But tone abs are much more that aesthetics. Besides looking good, they represent a healthy body.

The abdominal muscles are located in the midsection of our body. They are very large and hold our body together. Keeping these muscles tone is essential to good health. The abs protect our internal organs. Whereas many of our internal organs are protected by a ribcage, the stomach and intestines are not. These strong muscles provide defense that bones provide elsewhere.

Because they are in our midsection, the abdominal muscles are important to our posture. It is impossible to stand up straight without help from the abs. When the abdominal muscles are not strong enough we use other muscles to help. Muscles such as our lower back are not designed to do the abs job. This is not healthy and can lead to chronic pain. When we use other muscles instead of our abs it is at our own risk.

A good abdominal workout can often help with lower back pain. Because weak abs tend to get help from other muscles, making them stronger prevents that. When abs are stronger they no longer depend on other muscles. Building stronger abdominal muscles and using them instead of the back muscles can prevent lower back pain.

Because the abdominal muscles and back muscles are so close, correct abdominal exercises are important. When engaged the abdominal muscles can get help from other muscles. This is especially true if they are weak. This can cause the other helper muscles to become injured. When doing an abdominal exercise make sure the abdominal muscles are actually engaged.

Balance is another reason why tone abs are beneficial to our health. Balance is no longer just for gymnast. Having good balance helps prevent injury and increases performance. The body works together as a whole. When it is off balance some muscle groups are forced to work harder than others. The abdominal muscles are a main muscle group that makes sure balance in retained. Strong abs make sure every muscle group is doing the job they are supposed to do.

Not only does balance keep the body’s muscles running smoothly, it also prevents everyday injury. Poor balance causes falls and other injuries. Without good balance it is difficult to stand on one leg or even walk. The abdominal muscles are extremely necessary for standing on one leg.

Balance exercises are a good addition to any abdominal workout. Balance exercises will naturally strengthen the abs while improving balance. Yoga has many balance exercises as part of its program. An exercise regime involving a balance ball is also a good idea. These exercises improve balance by strengthening the abdominal muscles.

Having tone abs feels good and is good for you. Tone abs will help you stand up straight and balance on one leg. They will better protect your vital organs. Oh, and did I mention, they look really good.

Submission wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world. It is very different than professional wrestling and if you want to be good at it, you have to prepare yourself both mentally and physically.

When we say non-lethal force in submission wrestling, this means taking the opponent down through holds, pins or locks without strikes or kicks.

As a beginner, your first few sessions will involve watching how others do it. There are also videos around which you can buy or just watch using your computer. In fact, some of the best fighters watch previous matches that they participated in or watch their fellow competitors so they can find a weak point that can be exploited during their next match.

Stalling is simply defined as someone who refuses to get into contact with another competitor. A verbal warning will be given the first time. Should there be a 2nd or 3rd offense, corresponding points will be deducted. If this happens for the fourth time, the competitor will be disqualified from the match.

Because neck cranks and twisters are a bit dangerous, it is only legal in the advanced division. Players in the intermediate division may however use the twister setup then execute a banana split or calf slicer.

In time, you will be able to improve your skills as a submission wrestler. You win some and you lose some. If you win, take it humbly and if you lose, treat it as a learning experience because even the best fighters have to face setbacks in order for them to become better.

In mixed martial arts competitions, both fighters start by standing and facing one another. You then get close and use what you know as a wrestler. Don’t expect that your opponent will just give in to whatever you throw. He will also execute some counter moves as well and even punch or kick you.

To close the gap, you have to protect your face and move to a certain position that will stop those punches or kicks from happening. For that, you can use your lock, hold or pin techniques and then wait for that person to submit.

You can compete in submission wrestling with or without Gi. If you join a match that does not require one, you must wear board shorts, fight shorts or singlets or Gi pants for the bottom and a T-shirt or tank top for your upper body. Other equipment you have the option to wear includes cups, head gear, mouth guard, knee pads and wrestling shoes.

Submission wrestling matches are divided into different age groups and weights, each person must be weighed in before the start of the match. At the same time, competitors will be checked for any communicable diseases.

Do you think you can take submission wrestling and win in a mixed martial arts competition? The only one who can answer that is you.

So what are you waiting for? Join a gym that has submission wrestling as part of their program. Anyone can learn this sport so it doesn’t matter how old you are or what is your gender. The important thing is that you are willing to learn the principles that make up submission wrestling work.

Tricks To Toning Abs Easily

Toning abs is not always an easy thing to do. It takes dedication, routine and a well balanced workout. Many people spend weeks on toning their abs and receive little result. What is the trick to achieving and keeping toned abs?

Strong, tone abdominal muscles can be achieved through many methods. It is popular to only do abdominal exercises and hope for results. That is generally not a good idea. In order to have flat tone abs, you must not have any fat on them.

A program to reduce fat around the abdominals generally helps most people achieve tone abs. Once the fat is gone, you are able to see the muscles. At this point you can focus on sculpting them.

The best way to reduce fat on the body is to reduce how much goes in. A nutrition program is a great way to deal with this problem. A good diet will help reduce fat and increase productivity from exercise. Exercising without nutrition sometimes defeats the purpose of exercising in the first place.

Water is probably the least known helper for toning abs. Water assists with digestion, which can help you lose weight. It also transports nutrients, and keeps the tissues and joints lubricated. This helps prevent injury while exercising. Plus, do not forget the obvious reason to drink water while exercising - because you are thirsty!

In addition to nutrition, a well-rounded exercise program should include aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercises are those that increase your heart rate. They are great for burning calories which fuels weight loss. This is the type of exercise that will remove the fat from around the abdominal muscles.

Now that we’ve discussed the fat, here is how you tone the actual muscles. Below are some specific abdominal exercises that can help you tone your abs.

The Bicycle Crunch: This is named after the bicycle because the leg movement mirror riding a bike. It is done on your back, while alternating legs and elbow to touch. It is a great exercise for the rectus abdominus.

The Ab Crunch: Another good exercise for the rectus abdominus; this is done on an exercise ball. The exercise ball is used to support the lower back while your feet stay on the floor. Using the ball as support, raise your center using only the abdominal muscles.

The Vertical Leg Crunch: Another abdominal workout done on the floor. This one exercises the external obliques. While laying down, raise your legs and slightly bend the knees. Lift your shoulder blades up slightly using your abdominal muscles only.

The Reverse Crunch: This floor exercise uses the oblique muscles of the abs to raise your hips. To do this one, lay on the floor and place your hands beside you. Next, raise your legs and bend them ninety degrees. In this position, use the abdominal muscles to raise your hip.

These four exercises are a very good way to achieve strong tone abs. However, as mentioned before, it takes dedication, routine and a well balanced workout. Make sure you have a mixture of a good diet, aerobic exercise, and abdominal exercises. If you stick with it, your abs can be strong and tone in no time.
